FAQs

What must I do to sell my RTFO certificates in the e-TOC auction?
The first step is to enter into the Agency Agreement (which is an 'evergreen' contract) . We will then contact you before each auction to ask if you have any certificates you would like to sell.

As a new seller, how long will it take to register for an auction?
You can send signed Signature pages at any time but no later than 5 days before the date of the auction. This will allow details of your certificates to be shown on the auction site 24 hours before the auction starts.

How will I get paid for my certificates sold at auction?
Following the auction we will ask you to send an invoice to us. We will then make payment to you once payment has been received from the buyer (less our fees). Payment is usually made within two weeks of the auction.

How much will it cost me to sell my certificates through the e-TOC auction?
The charge is 0.5p + VAT per certificate, subject to a minimum fee of £50 + VAT. This means any quantity up to 10,000 certificates will cost £50.

Is there a buyer's premium?
No.

Can I specify a minimum price for my certificates?
Yes, if you wish, you may agree with us a minimum price for the certificates you place in our auction.

How many certificates are in a lot?
The size of lots can vary from a few thousand to a hundreds of thousands; there is no set size.

How much is the 'buyout' price?
15p per litre for the first two periods of the Order.

Why are buyers willing to buy lots in the auction at more than the 'buy out' price set by the Order?
By submitting certificates to the administrator they avoid having to pay the 'buy-out' price and benefit from a payment from the 'buy-out fund.'

What size bids can I make?
Bids can be made in increments of not less than 0.25p.

How can sellers be sure of getting the best price for their certificates?
There are no guarantees, but we think you'll find our results very attractive.

What are the bidding hours?
The period is 9:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday.

How is a successful bid determined?
It is the highest bid for a lot which is not bettered for a continuous period of 1 hour during the bidding hours (or at the end of the auction period).
