FAQs

What must I do to sell my RTFO certificates in the e-TOC auction?
The first step is to enter into the Agency Agreement (which is an 'evergreen' contract) . We will then contact you before each auction to ask if you have any certificates you would like to sell.

As a new seller, how long will it take to register for an auction?
You can send signed Signature pages at any time but no later than 2 days before the date of the auction. This will allow details of your certificates to be shown on the auction site 24 hours before the auction starts.

How will I get paid for my certificates sold at auction?
Following the auction (or following the issue of certificates for forward-sold RTFCs), we will ask you to send an invoice to us. We will then make payment to you once payment has been received from the buyer (less our fees). Payment is usually made within two weeks of the auction.

How much will it cost me to sell my certificates through the e-TOC auction?
Contract Fees
> 1,000,000 certificates = 1% of net sales
500,000 - 1,000,000 = 1.5% of net sales
< 500,000 = 2% of net sales

Is there a buyer's premium?
No.

Can I specify a reserve price for my certificates?
Yes, if you wish, you may agree with us a reserve price for the certificates you place in our auction, and you can lower this reserve price during the auction.

How many certificates are in a lot?
The size of lots can vary from a few thousand to a hundreds of thousands; there is no set size. NFPAS can consolidate smaller certificates into larger batches to make them more attractive to buyers.

How much is the 'buyout' price?
30p per litre.

Why are buyers willing to buy lots in the auction at more than the 'buy out' price set by the Order?
By submitting certificates to the administrator they avoid having to pay the 'buy-out' price.

What size bids can I make?
Bids can be made in increments of not less than 0.25p.

What are the bidding hours?
The auction starts at 9:00am and finishes at 5:00pm - the auction lasts 1 working day.

How is a successful bid determined?
It is the highest bid for a lot which is not bettered for a continuous period of 30 minutes up to 5:00pm.
